programme is aimed not only at rebuilding houses, but creating a stable and sustainable environment for families so they can remain in Kosovo for the long term. Results 2007

Much of this work has been undertaken in co-operation with the government of Kosovo as it seeks to create the conditions for ethnic minorities to live safely in the region.

The portfolio takes up the majority of UNDP’s budget and covers more than 58 projects. It includes the reconstruction
of houses, income generation schemes, and the creation of local schools and medical facilities, all amenities that are vital to make a community self-suffi cient.
