Anti-Corruption Journalism Award
Anti-Corruption Journalism Awards 2008
Anti-Corruption Journalism Awards are given by UNDP , through its Kosovo Transparency Initiative (KTI), in partnership with the Association of Professional Journalists of Kosovo (APJK) and the Kosovo Anti-Corruption Agency (KACA). It has become a tradition now, that in order to promote investigative journalism, awards are given for stories published in Kosovan print media, radio, agencies and internet, and television.
Given the number and quality of the applications, the jury decided not to award any prize in the categories of radio and agency and internet. Instead the prizes were moved to the print media category. This was in line with the terms of reference and the aim of the donors to award journalists for their hard work regardless of the type of media they work for.
In the print media category, there were 11 applicants and 16 stories competing. Out of these, 12 of the stories competing were published in Koha Ditore, 2 of them published in Infopress, and one story was published in Lajm. One story was not reviewed because it was published in media printed outside of Kosovo. There were no stories from other print media. In the news agencies and internet category, there was only one applicant from Kosovalive, with two stories. In the radio category, there was only one applicant from Radio Blue Sky with three stories. In the television category, there were 4 applicants competing with 11 stories. Out of these, 7 stories were broadcast in RTK, and 4 stories were prepared by BIRN and broadcast in RTK.
