Kosovo Provisional Institutions of Self Government (PISG)
2006
The Kosovo PISG, through the Ministry of Communities and Returns signed agreements with UNDP for USD 1.9 million for individual returns projects and 1.8 million for organized returns projects. Until 31 December 2005 The Kosovo Provisional Institutions of Self Government donated USD 28.8 million. These funds went mainly to returns projects as well as for the employment generation projects throughout Kosovo.
Japan
1999 - 2005
With a USD 39.7 million aid package from the Government of Japan, UNDP Kosovo has been able to provide assistance in housing, electrification, media support schooling, health and awarenes raising of the danger of illegal weapons.
EAR / EU
2006
The European Union through European Agency for Reconstruction donated USD 4.4 million for the Capacity Building for European Integration (CBEI) Project that aims to build the capacity of local officials trained by international experts towards European integration.
1999 - 2005
With USD 9.2 million that the EU donated to Kosovo through UNDP immediate temporary employment to rural communities and vulnerable groups in Kosovo through the implementation of labour-intensive, small-scale public works projects were provided. Netherlands
2006
The Government of Netherlands donated USD 551,700 towards the Security and Rule of Law (SRL) in Kosovo that aims at developing the capacity of Kosovans in strengthening the security and rule of law sectors, specifically the Internal Security Sector Review (ISSR).
1999 - 2005
The Government of Netherlands donated USD 5.7 million to various UNDP projects that include capacity building of Kosovo Police Service administration, community rehabilitation programmes and Kosovo Human Development Report.
Norway
2006
During 2006, the Government of Norway funded a number of UNDP projects mostly related to policy. Norvegians financed: The Blue Ribbon Report which intends to stimulate policy debate and discussion on key challenges, development patterns, and major issues related to local governance and decentralization in Kosovo with 175,000 . LDDG Report with 143,000 that is designed to carry out a clear assessment of the needs and opportunities across all sectors to adequately support the decentralisation process in Kosovo They donated 50,000 to MDG Gjakova/Djakovica Project that aims at providing an overall analytical summary of the current level of local development related to selected MDGs.
1999 - 2005
During the six years, the Government of Norway funded capacity building, returns and employment projects in total value of USD 5.7 million.
Italy
2006
Italian Government placed another USD 399,490 for the second phase of the Support to Kosovo Information Technology Project that provides Kosovo municipalities with Local Area Network (LAN) infrastructure.
1999 - 2005
The Italian Government has contributed to several projects through a total of USD 2.4 million in development assistance. Projects supported capacity building, employment and Information Technology throughout Kosovo municipalities.
Germany
The Government of Germany contributed USD 2.2 million for two returns projects that were managed and implemented by UNDP. United Kingdom
2006
The British Government has signed an agreement with UNDP for USD 2.4 million that will be used for individual returns projects. DFID
1999 - 2005
The UK Department for International Development (DFID) has contributed USD 950,000 to UNDPs Community Integrated Rehabilitation Programme (CIRP) and Project for Employment and Reconciliation in Kosovo (PERK).
Denmark
With USD 584,795 the Government of Denmark supported Employment Generation Project (EGP) to employ young Kosovars.
United States of America
US State Department contributed USD 500,000 to the Rapid Response Returns Facility (RRRF) Project that assisted around 800 families.
Ireland
The Government of Ireland donated USD 413,000 for the implementation of the Rapid Response Returns Facility (RRRF) Project and Rapid Employment Programme (REP) that provided temporary employment opportunities.
USAID
2006
USAID continues to fund the same projects in 2006 as well. They are fnding the EWS phase III with USD 150,000 and Kosovo HDR 2006 with USD 50,000.
1999 - 2005
USAID has contributed to three UNDP policy projects, the Early Warning System (EWS) and Kosovo Human Development Report 2004 with a total of USD 338,800.
KFOS
The Kosova Foundation for Open Society (KFOS) as a branch of SOROS Foundation, during 1999 2005 contributed USD 139,955 within the framework of a strategic partnership to establish a unified and professional Civil Service in Kosovo and support Capacity Building Facility (CBF) Project.
Switzerland
2006
Swiss Office signed an agreement for donating USD 28,000 for the Internal Security Sector Review (ISSR).
1999 - 2005
The Government of Switzerland, SDC Swiss Development Cooperation donated CHF 30,000 toward Kosovo Human Development Report 2004 (KHDR) that explored the theme of participation and representation.
OSCE
2006
OSCE and CIDA are funding with USD 90,000 the Environmental Assessment and Remediation Action Plan (EARAP) Project that aims to assess the environmental impact of two Trepca mines and provide remediation plans.
